‘Tank’ vs ‘Rolly’ Predictions
Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis must be used to being a perennial betting favorite at this point. Looking back through his odds history, you’d have to back to find any indication that he was an underdog. This will be Tank’s third PPV in a row, and he’s bringing the show with him this time. Going up against the highly entertaining ‘Rolly’ Romero. Who is an undefeated 26-year-old has accumulated a record 14-0, with 12 by way of KO/TKO.
Davis is coming off an 11th round TKO win over Mario Barrios. In typical Davis fashion, he didn’t win every round but gradually made his way into the fight by punishing Barrios and eventually score a late finish win. Meanwhile, ‘Rolly’ has fought twice this year both fights he won by TKO in the 7th round.
GERVONTA DAVIS VS ROLANDO ROMERO – FULL HEATED BACK & FORTH PRESS CONFERENCE & FACE OFF VIDEO
Romero brings a fan-friendly style that leaves everything on the table. He has a real opportunity here to stun and confuse Davis in the early rounds, due to Davis being a slow starter. Romero tends to leave his chin open with his lack of head movement. While his right hand is explosive, he tends to smoother his punches.
This is where I see Davis having an advantage, on the inside from working the body as a distraction to targeting the head later on. Plus over the course of twelve rounds, Davis has managed to create a style that’s always lurking and hunting for a dramatic finish.
I expect this fight to be one of Davis’ easier fights in recent memory. He’s clearly a great talent and needs a dance partner for his real skills to shine through.
Pick: Davis by TKO/KO.

Who’s next for ‘Tank’ Davis?
At this point Davis is starting to run out of opponents on the PBC stable, he moved up in weight to prove he can KO bigger fighters. If he wins this fight, he’ll have to start looking elsewhere for some bigger names in boxing. There are tones of relevant fights out there for him such as Teofimo Lopez and Ryan Garcia, but for now, it seems that he will stay with the PBC brand and continue to look further up the weight classes for more opportunities.
